FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 17, 2026
Summary:
The Southwest Ohio Republican Network (SWORN) strongly endorses President Trump’s call for Congress to immediately pass the SAVE America Act, which requires proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration, mandates photo ID for all voters, and severely restricts mail-in ballots (allowed only for illness, disability, military, or travel).
SWORN also urges the Ohio General Assembly to override Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of legislation requiring photo ID for absentee ballots, calling the veto a dangerous loophole. The group is encouraging Southwest Ohio residents to contact their federal and state lawmakers to demand stronger election security measures.
Press Release:
The Southwest Ohio Republican Network (SWORN) strongly supports President Donald Trump’s recent call for Congress to immediately pass the SAVE America Act.
In his latest remarks, President Trump made it clear that securing our elections is a national priority. The SAVE Act requires proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote and mandates photo ID for all voters, and no Mail-in ballots (except for illness, disability, military or travel). These common-sense protections are essential to ensuring only American citizens decide American elections.
SWORN also calls on the Ohio General Assembly to override Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of legislation requiring photo ID for absentee ballots. Governor DeWine’s veto leaves a dangerous loophole in our election system. Ohioans deserve the same level of security whether they vote in person or by mail.
SWORN urges all Southwest Ohio residents to contact their members of Congress and their state legislators and demand they take immediate action to secure our elections.
About SWORN The Southwest Ohio Republican Network (SWORN) is a coalition of conservative leaders, grassroots activists, and elected officials dedicated to advancing conservative principles and restoring integrity in government.
