SWORN Statement on Fraud

SWORN condemns the use and abuse of taxpayer funds and the corruption from the top to bottom involved that leads to this situation.

When the American people are taxed at such a high level and the funds spent are so astronomical that oversight of what happens to those funds is lax, then clearly too much is being taken from the tax paying citizen and it’s a situation ripe for graft and corruption. There are few things that irk the American taxpayer more than when we see money taken from us via taxation only to have those funds abused and stolen.

When we learn, as we recently did thanks to the intrepid work of a young man named Nick Shirley, that those funds were being stolen and much of it funneled back into Somalia directly and quite a bit of those funds went to terrorist groups in the Middle East, we are beyond outraged. On January 12 nearly $700 million was confiscated by TSA at the John Glenn International Airport that was on it’s way to Somalia. Sadly this scandal is not unique in Minnesota. This is but only the most recent example of such programs being abused has become known in the media as the “Somali Day Care Center fraud”, but it’s much larger and deeper than that. It spider webs into other programs where exactly the same thing happened in recent years but has been largely forgotten.

So we will only go back five years in discussing such things to contain this huge issue. The problem begins when legislation is written in such a way as to assure there is very little oversight of how such money is spent, always in the name of some benevolent feel good cause. In 2022 the Federal Government did get tipped off by whistleblowers of another such case of abuse in the “Feeding our Future” scandal where again tax payer funds were being stolen. This was a program designed to help pay for food during the Covid 19 fiasco. Fifty individual were prosecuted in this case but up to seventy-eight, were suspected of involvement.

Again the Somali community was up to their neck in this recent but forgotten scandal . Abdi Salah (a top adviser to Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey) was involved and was convicted in this case and politicians like Frey, and Ilhan Omar who received donations of the purloined funds were permitted to return those monies. And just like now those investigating the scandal are being hounded in the media as racist and right wing. But before the dust settled legislation was written providing funds for the next scam on the American people.

The previous year a smaller scandal took place. Minnesota’s Integrated Community Supports (ICS) program launched in 2021, intended to aid adults with disabilities. It initially cost the state $4.6 million a year when it launched in 2021, but "explosively grew" to nearly $180 million in 2025 Fraudulent providers for ICS were suspected of failing to provide services that they billed to Minnesota. Lack of care has been connected to the death of at least one participant in ICS. Rick Clemmer, an ICS enrollee, died in 2025 from a medical emergency with nobody around to call for emergency services. His ICS provider, Abdul Ibrahim of Ultimate Home Health Services LLC, claimed he only checked on Clemmer once a day, despite Ultimate Home Health Services billing Minnesota for 12 hours of one on one care daily. In 2025, at least 17 providers were suspended by DHS due to credible allegations of fraud. In December 2025, the FBI raided Ultimate Home Health Services LLC, alleging that it billed for services that were never provided.

Minnesota sadly is not unique. The legislation authorizing these funds aimed primarily at the Somali community has gone to other states. Ohio also has a large Somali population and they tapped into these funds set aside for Day Care Centers, etc… 61 providers in Ohio, have been forced to reimburse the state and twelve facilities have been closed down as of January 2026. And like in Minnesota counter accusations of Islamophobia and racism are being used to deflect attention from the obvious fraud.

It is a curious thing that coinciding with the revelation of this fraud that Anti ICE protests exploded on the scene, especially in Minneapolis . Since Minneapolis is the epicenter of this fraud investigation it’s a curious coincidence that Leftist groups have poured so much attention and resources into fighting ICE in Minneapolis. So many reckless people acting out leading to many arrests and two deaths. Enough chaos to completely take the media’s collective eyes off the Somali scandal. We have no doubt this is all connected.

Years ago James Madison was pressed to provide money in the wake of a crisis. His response was that he could not lay his finger on the provision in the US Constitution that allowed money to be spent on objects of benevolence for the American people. We am pretty darned sure he would say that of money spent for benevolence for the Somali community, a community that pretty much refuses to assimilate and continues to plot and steal like their cousins at home known for their piracy. Maybe it’s not that they had hard hearts in those early days of our Republic. Perhaps it’s just that our first generation of leaders understood such spending would lead to fraud on a massive scale and wanted to avoid it.

SWORN Stands with President Trump

We stand solidly behind President Trump and our brave men and women in uniform as they fight to end a 47 year old war with Iran. The President started nothing beyond ending a regime who has made war on the United States since its birth in 1979. Iran declared war on the US with the invasion of our embassy and taking hostage Americans who were there. Since those days Iran and her proxies have killed thousands of Americans across the world.

For 47 years we have heard "Death to America" echoing through the streets of Tehran. Time for us to retort, "Death to the Ayatollahs and their terror". The President has not started another forever war, he is ending one. Shame on those who have forgotten the history of the real danger Iran is and the fact the Democrats helped birth the oil fueled terrorist regime by abandoning an old American ally. It was Democrats who propped this regime up when both Obama and Biden sent the Ayatollahs billions of dollars on pallets in untraceable funds. Insanely fueling them with funds for their dangerous nuclear ambitions.

It's time for the Democrats and RINOs to get behind team America and our allies for a change and help us defeat this nearly 50 year old threat to world peace, the free flow of oil and global stability.

Election Volunteer Opportunities

The Republican party has a tendency to be reactive instead of proactive. We like to “armchair quarterback” instead of getting involved to affect the outcome. If we want to start winning local elections, we need more republicans to get involved early.  We cannot wait until early voting starts to get involved and expect to win.  “Repeating the same thing and expecting a different result” is a definition of insanity.  That being said, here are just a few ways for everyone to get involved in the process and help us to start winning local elections:

There are many ways to volunteer at many different levels.  You can work with your local Precinct Executive, candidate, or a political group passing out literature, delivering yard signs or volunteering at events just to name a few.

Leading up to and on election day, there are many paid and unpaid jobs at the Board of Election.

UNPAID (VOLUNTEER) POSITIONS AT THE BOE

  • During early voting- BOE handing out candidate or issue information (volunteer)
    • Leave a message for Ina Loftspring at 513-472-3880
  • Observer at early voting center (BOE) (1/2-day commitment is required)
  • Observe opening of mail-in ballots at the BOE (1/2-day commitment is required)

PAID POSITION AT THE BOE

  • Help outside the BOE as a floater (1/2-day commitment is required)
  • Truck Drivers (commander) - Work the Saturday before the election and election day delivering equipment to voting location and picking up the day and night of the election.
  • Ballot Guards – Meet truck drivers to load and unload Saturday and Tuesday
  • Election Day work at the BOE starting at 6pm.  Helping pick up equipment from voting locations and unload equipment at the BOE.

Press Release: Pass the SAVE Act

PRESS RELEASE

Southwest Ohio Republican Network (SWORN)**
For Immediate Release

SWORN Urges Senate Action on the SAVE America Act

Southwest Ohio Republican Network (SWORN) is calling on the U.S. Senate to immediately take up the SAVE America Act, landmark legislation designed to strengthen election integrity and ensure that only American citizens vote in federal elections. The bill passed the U.S. House on February 11 and is now awaiting action in the Senate.

SWORN urges Senate Majority Leader John Thune to bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor and allow a full, open debate. A talking filibuster, requiring Senators to publicly explain their positions, reflects the original purpose of the filibuster and provides transparency on an issue of national importance.

Why SWORN Supports the SAVE America Act

  • Requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections.
  • Establishes a uniform photo ID requirement for voting in person or by mail.
  • Strengthens voter‑roll maintenance through federal verification systems.
  • Provides clear, consistent standards that reinforce public confidence in election outcomes.
  • Reflects broad public support across political and demographic groups.

Call John Thune at 202-224-2321 to remind him that Americans deserve elections that are lawful, transparent, and decided by eligible citizens and urge him to allow a full public debate and move this bill forward.

Marcel Strbich Interview

Check out the RestoreLiberty.US podcast with Marcel Strbich (details here)

Military Leadership for Election Integrity: Marcel Strbich's Challenge to Ohio's Political Establishment

Marcel Strbich, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, discusses his journey from military service to running for office. With twenty years in the Air Force including combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa, Strbich brings extensive leadership experience to his campaign. He explains that COVID-19, concerns about the 2020 election integrity, and the treatment of military personnel who questioned mandates motivated his decision to enter politics.

 Or listen here on Spotify

Key Takeaways:

  • Election infrastructure vulnerabilities are non-partisan

    • A military professional identified specific technical gaps (uncoordinated databases, lack of mail-in verification) rather than partisan talking points, suggesting election security concerns transcend political ideology.

  • Military experience is being repositioned as election expertise
    • Strbich is leveraging two decades of operational and command experience to claim authority on election administration—a field typically managed by career election officials.
  • Anti-establishment candidates are bypassing traditional GOP networks
    • By mobilizing grassroots support instead of relying on donor relationships, Strbich represents a shift in how challengers compete against party establishment incumbents in statewide races.

Statement on Tax Reform

SWORN supports abolishing property taxes.

By the passing of the petition, the State Representatives and Senators will be forced to act and reform property taxes.  We The People have the power to abolish property taxes altogether, creating the modern-day Boston Tea Party in the fight against Ohio’s outrageously out of control budget that is dramatically affecting property taxes.

Ohio DOGE is needed to find Waste, Fraud and Abuse

Property taxes are too high, but the solution is not raising other taxes or cutting essential services, like roads, police, fire, or schools.

Statement on Data Centers

The Rapid Expansion of Data Centers in Ohio

Across Ohio and the nation, data centers are being built at a record pace. AI, cloud computing, and digital storage have created a modern-day gold rush for land, water, and power. Progress is good and most Americans aren’t rejecting AI itself. What they are rejecting is being shut out of the decision-making process. Communities want transparency, responsible planning, and a seat at the table about what these data centers mean for the community.
